Cody A. Khork (1991/1992 - March 1, 2026) was an American United States Army Reserve captain who was one of six American soldiers to be killed by a Iranian drone strike in Kuwait on March 1, 2026. Making him one of the first American fatalities of the 2026 Iran War. [1] [2] [3]

Biography

Born in either 1991 or 1992 in Winter Haven, Florida to James Khork and. He was very patriotic at a young age and joined ROTC when he began to attend Florida Southern College. [1] [4]

In 2009, he enrolled in the National Guard as a multiple launch rocket system/fire detection specialist and was assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command. While in the National Guard, he graduated from Florida Southern in 2014 and was commissioned as a military police officer in the Army Reserve that same year. [1] [3]

In 2018, he was deployed to Saudi Arabia, in 2021, he was stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and in 2024 he was stationed in Poland. In 2026, he was stationed at the Port of Shuabia in Kuwait and was killed on March 1, 2026 by an Iranian drone strike which killed five other soldiers. Following his death, Florida Southern College launched a scholarship in his name to help cover tuition, room and board for an outstanding junior or senior ROTC cadet. [4] [5] [6]
