Production

Principal photography had wrapped in September 2024 on a crime thriller film written and directed by Alexandre Rockwell, and produced by Quentin Tarantino. It stars Vondie Curtis-Hall, Karyn Parsons, Kasi Lemmons, David Proval, Kevin Corrigan, and Michael Buscemi. [1] [2] Rockwell, Tarantino and Proval previously worked together on the comedy anthology film Four Rooms (1995). [1] [3] Tarantino also made a cameo appearance in Rockwell's Somebody to Love (1994). Release

The Projectionist is scheduled to premiere as the opening film of the Slamdance Film Festival on February 19, 2026. [5] In December 2025, Utopia acquired the distribution rights. [6]
