Shaheed Shashi Prasad Singh College (commonly known by its acronym, S.S.P.S. College) is a degree college located in Shambhuganj, Banka District, Bihar, India. Established in 1979, [1] the college is a permanently affiliated unit of Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU). [2]
The institution is named in honor of the independence activist and martyr Shashi Prasad Singh, who was a key figure in the local freedom struggle and was martyred during the Quit India Movement in 1942.
The college was founded in 1979 in Shambhuganj to provide higher education opportunities to the rural student population of the Banka and Bhagalpur regions. Since its inception, it has served as a permanent affiliated unit of Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University, offering undergraduate programs recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). [3]
