Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole is a Nigerian politician who is the senator representing Edo North Senatorial District since 2023. He is a former national chairman of the All Progressive Congress. He had previously served as the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress from 1999 to 2007 and as governor of Edo State from 2008 to 2016.

Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is a Nigerian politician,he served as the federal minister of transportation of Nigeria from 2015 to 2022 under the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari. He resigned to contest for Nigeria's presidency under the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC). He previously served as governor of oil-rich Rivers State from 2007 to 2015 and speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 1999 to 2007. On 9 April 2022,Amaechi declared his interest to contest in the presidential election in 2023,he came second in the APC presidential primaries held in June 2022 behind eventually winner Bola Tinubu with 316 votes from the delegates.

He is the current APC gubernatorial candidate for the just concluded Edo gubernatorial election in Edo State. He lost to the incumbent governor,Obaseki.
Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki is a Nigerian politician and businessman who is currently the Governor of Edo State. He was first elected governor under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the year 2016 where He defeated Mr. Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the PDP and was sworned in as governor on 12 November 2016. Before becoming governor,he served as chairman of the Edo State Economic and Strategy Team inaugurated by former Governor Adams Oshiomole in March 2009.
The 2016 Edo State gubernatorial election was held on 28 September,2016 to determine the Governor of Edo State. The election was originally scheduled for 10 September,however two days before,on 8 September it was postponed due to security concerns.

The 2020 Edo State gubernatorial election occurred on September 19,2020. Incumbent PDP Governor Godwin Obaseki won re-election for a second term,defeating APC Osagie Ize-Iyamu and several minor party candidates. Obaseki received 57.3% of the vote.

The 2020 Nigerian gubernatorial elections were held on 19 September 2020,in Edo State,and 10 October 2020,in Ondo State. The last regular gubernatorial elections for both states were in 2016. The All Progressives Congress' Rotimi Akeredolu was defending the Governor's office of Ondo while APC-turned-PDP Edo Governor Godwin Obaseki was defending his office. Both won reelection,leading to no net change in terms of overall party control of governorships.
The 2023 Nigerian Senate elections in Edo State will be held on 25 February 2023,to elect the 3 federal Senators from Edo State,one from each of the state's three senatorial districts. The elections will coincide with the 2023 presidential election,as well as other elections to the Senate and elections to the House of Representatives;with state elections being held two weeks later. Primaries were held between 4 April and 9 June 2022.
Patrick Aisowieren is a Nigerian politician who has served as a representative of the Orhionmwon/Uhumwonde constituency in the House of Representatives of Nigeria during both the 8th and 9th National Assembly. His political career began in 2003 when he was elected as a Councillor in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State. He then went on to serve as a member of the Edo State House of Assembly representing Orhionmwon East Constituency in 2007 and 2011,respectively. He is commonly referred to as "Project Master."
Matthew Aigbuhenze Iduoriyekemwen is a Nigerian politician,businessman and former commissioner representing Edo State in the NDDC. He was the member representing Ikpoba Okha LGA in the Edo State House of Assembly between 1999 and 2007. He is currently a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
