Field Marshal Sir Nigel Thomas Bagnall,was a career British Army officer who served as Commander-in-Chief of the British Army of the Rhine,from 1983 to 1985,and then as Chief of the General Staff (CGS),the professional head of the British Army,from 1985 to 1988. Early in his military career he saw action during the Palestine Emergency,the Malayan Emergency,the Cyprus Emergency and the Indonesia–Malaysia confrontation,and later in his career he provided advice to the British Government on the future role of Britain's nuclear weapons.

A career officer,he started his military career in the militia with the Sherwood Foresters in 1900,and shortly thereafter he joined the Army Service Corps and remained with the corps until his retirement in 1936. As a cricketer,he made over seventy appearances in first-class cricket,the majority of which came for Hampshire,though he also played at first-class level for services teams. His first-class career yielded him over 3,200 runs and he made two centuries. White was also active in army football as both a player and an administrator,being chairman of the Army Football Association.

Gordon Calthrop Thorne was an English first-class cricketer and British Army officer. Serving for most of his military career with the Royal Norfolk Regiment,Thorne saw action in the First World War from 1916 to 1918,before serving in British India and British Ceylon,where he served as the 9th Commander of the Ceylon Defence Force from 13 May 1937 until 5 February 1939. He served in the Second World War with the Cambridgeshire Regiment,seeing action during the Japanese invasion of Malaya,for which he was awarded the Distinguished Service Order,and in the Battle of Singapore. He escaped capture by the Japanese at Singapore aboard a Dutch steamship,but was killed in March 1942 when it was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine in the Indian Ocean. During his military career,he also played first-class cricket for the British Army cricket team.
John Baskervyle-Glegg MBE was an English first-class cricketer and British Army officer. Baskervyle-Glegg served with the Grenadier Guards in a military career that spanned from 1960–1994,rising to the rank of major-general. He also played first-class cricket for the Combined Services cricket team.
Walter Evelyn Parke was an English first-class cricketer and British Army officer. Parke served in the Durham Light Infantry,seeing action in France during the opening stages of the First World War. He was killed in October 1914. He also played first-class cricket for the British Army cricket team.
Lieutenant-General Sir Harold Ben Fawcus was a British Army officer and an English first-class cricketer. After studying medicine at Durham University,Fawcus was commissioned into the Royal Army Medical Corps. He would serve with the corps from 1900 to 1934,serving in the Second Boer War,the First World War and the Third Anglo-Afghan War,for which he was highly decorated. He eventually rose to the rank of lieutenant-general. During his time in the military,he played first-class cricket in South Africa for Orange Free State and in England for the British Army cricket team. In retirement he served as the director-general of the British Red Cross.
Tristan George Lance Ballance was an English first-class cricketer and British Army officer. Ballance attended the University of Oxford,where he played first-class cricket for Oxford University Cricket Club from 1935–37. After graduating he became a schoolteacher,before serving in the Second World War with the Durham Light Infantry. He died of wounds sustained in action in December 1943,three months after being decorated with the Military Cross.
