Moutaz Al-Khayyat (born 31 December 1983) is a Qatari businessman based in Doha, Qatar. He is the chairman of Power International Holding and UCC Holding, a company involved in global building and contracting. [1] [2] He is a founder partner and chairman of Baladna Food Industries and chairman of Estithmar Holding. [3]
Al-Khayyat obtained his degree in Business from the University of the West of Scotland. [4] Al-Khayyat’s father was Mohamad Raslan Al Khayyat, who founded Al Khayyat Contracting and Trading in 1983, which undertook several large construction projects in the Middle East. [5] [6]
In 2011, Al-Khayyat and his brother, Ramez Al-Khayyat, founded UCC Holding in Qatar from Al Khayyat Contracting and Trading. [6]
In March 2014, Al-Khayyat co-founded Baladna Food Industries. [7] [8] In November 2019, Al-Khayyat oversaw the launch of the initial public offering (IPO) of Baladna Food Industries on the Qatar Stock Exchange, which received substantial interest. [9] [10] [11] Al Khayyat rose to prominence during the Qatar Diplomatic Crisis between 2017 and 2021 as the 'man who airlifted 4,000 dairy cows' into the country to bypass the blockade into the country by Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt. In April 2022, Al-Khayyat was appointed chairman of Estithmar Holding QPSC, a listed company on the Qatar Stock Exchange. [14]
Al-Khayyat is the chairman of Aura Group, which operates in the food and beverage sector and family entertainment outlets in Qatar. [15] He is also the chairman of Assets, a real estate company in the residential, hospitality and commercial sectors. [16] He currently presides as Chairman over all affiliated companies within Power International Holding (PIH). [17] [18]
