Marc M. Wall (born 1954) [1] is an American diplomat. He was the United States Ambassador to Chad from 2004 to 2007.
Marc Wall was born in 1954. He later joined the U.S Foreign Service,overseeing posts as Director of the Bureau of African Affairs’Economic Policy Staff in Washington D.C. and overseas posts in the U.S. Embassies in Côte d’Ivoire and Zimbabwe. Wall became affiliated with African issues in the course of several assignments with the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs and as a special assistant to the Under Secretary for Economic,Business,and Agricultural Affairs.
Wall has also served several diplomatically in Asia. He served as Chief of the Economic Office,American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and worked in the Trade Unit in the U.S. Embassy in Beijing China. He was involved in negotiations that led to China's and Taiwan's accessions to the World Trade Organization (WTO). He later became Deputy Director of the Bureau of Asian and Pacific Affairs’Office of Economic Policy in Washington,and was active in the development of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum. He was also a member of the Secretary of State's Policy Planning Council. [2]
Wall resides in Virginia and was appointed as United States Ambassador to Chad by President George W. Bush on May 12,2004. He was confirmed on June 16,2004,and left that post on July 5,2007. [1] Wall was previously married to the former United States Ambassador to Gabon and São Toméand Príncipe,Eunice S. Reddick. They have two children,Gregory and Sarah.

The AIT was officially created as a U.S. government-sponsored nonprofit,private corporation established under the auspices of the U.S. government to serve its interests in Taiwan.
The Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO),also known as Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO),Taipei Representative Office (TRO) or Taipei Mission,is an alternative diplomatic institution serving as a de facto embassy or a consulate of the Republic of China to exercise the foreign affairs and consular services in specific countries which have established formal diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China. The PRC denies the legitimacy of the ROC as a sovereign state and claims the ROC-controlled territories as an integral part of its territory. An exclusive mandate,namely One-China policy,requires that any country wishing to establish a diplomatic relationship with the PRC must first sever any formal relationship with the ROC. According to The Fletcher Forum of World Affairs,"non-recognition of the Taiwanese government is a prerequisite for conducting formal diplomatic relations with the PRC—in effect forcing other governments to choose between Beijing and Taipei." As a result,these countries only allow the ROC to establish representative offices instead of a fully-fledged embassy or consulate for the purpose of conducting practical bilateral relations without granting full diplomatic recognition.
The Bureau of African Affairs (AF) is part of the United States Department of State and is charged with advising the Secretary of State on matters of Sub-Saharan Africa. The bureau was established in 1958. It is headed by the Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs who reports to the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs. Molly Phee is the current Assistant Secretary.

Earl Anthony Wayne is an American diplomat. Formerly Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs,Ambassador to Argentina and Deputy Ambassador to Afghanistan,Wayne served nearly four years as Ambassador to Mexico. He was nominated by President Obama and confirmed by the Senate in August,2011. He departed Mexico City for Washington July 31,2015 and retired from the State Department on September 30,2015. Wayne attained the highest rank in the U.S. diplomatic service:Career Ambassador. He is currently a Professorial Lecturer and Distinguished Diplomat in Residence at American University's School of International Service where he teaches courses related to diplomacy and US foreign policy. Wayne also works with the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars,the Atlantic Council,the Center for Strategic and International Studies,. Wayne is co-chair of the Mexico Institute's Advisory Board at the Wilson Center. He is also on the board of the American Academy of Diplomacy and the Public Diplomacy Council of America. Wayne is an independent consultant,speaker and writer and works with several not-for-profit professional associations. He was an adviser for HSBC Latin America on improving management of financial crime risk from 2015 until 2019 and served on the board of the American Foreign Service Association from 2017 to 2019.
James Peter Zumwalt is an American diplomat with expertise in trade,economy,and East Asia. On November 19,2014,he was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the U.S. Ambassador to Senegal and to Guinea-Bissau. Previously,he worked as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs,covering Japan and Korea. Until December 2011,he was the Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo where he also served as chargéd'affaires ad interim during the absence of an Ambassador from January to August 2009. Having served in the Department of State and several diplomatic outposts,he was the director of the American Institute in Taiwan,the de facto embassy of the United States in Taiwan,from 2015 to 2018.
