Lazi, officially the Municipality of Lazi (Cebuano : Lungsod sa Lazi; Tagalog : Bayan ng Lazi), is a municipality in the province of Siquijor, Philippines. According to the 2024 census, it has a population of 23,092 people. [5]
Lazi Church is currently included in the tentative list for UNESCO World Heritage Sites as part of the Baroque Churches of the Philippines (Extension). [6] Scholars have proposed a separate UNESCO nomination for "Old Centre of Lazi, which includes the Lazi Church".
Lazi is 32 kilometres (20 mi) from the provincial capital Siquijor.
Lazi is politically subdivided into 18 barangays. Each barangay consists of puroks and some have sitios.
