The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) is an NCAA Division III athletic conference. Of its 15 member schools,all but one are located in Virginia;the other full member is in North Carolina. The conference also has two associate members:one in Virginia and one in North Carolina.
The NCAA Division III men's basketball tournament is a tournament to determine the NCAA Division III national champion. It has been held annually from 1975 to 2019 &since 2022,but not played in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19 issues.

He served as the second president of Randolph–Macon College in Ashland,Virginia,from 1836 to 1846;then professor from 1847 to 1855,and then third president of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa,Alabama,from 1855 to 1867;and first chancellor of Vanderbilt University in Nashville,Tennessee,from 1875 to 1893. He was an apologist for slavery in the United States before the Civil War,but afterward became a vociferous spokesperson against slavery.

Randolph College is a private liberal arts and sciences college in Lynchburg,Virginia. Founded in 1891 as Randolph-Macon Woman's College,it was renamed on July 1,2007,when it became coeducational.
Blackstone College for Girls was a private,religious school for young women in Blackstone,Nottoway County,in the U.S. state of Virginia. The school operated under the auspices of the Virginia Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church,South between 1894 and 1950. The Virginia Department of Historic Resources acknowledged the significance of the site by erecting historical marker number K 174 in 1996. Blackstone College is also designated as a site on the Civil Rights in Education Heritage Trail. The school buildings still stand. Since 1955,the Virginia United Methodist Church has used the former school buildings as a conference center.

The Tigers compete as members of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference for all sports. The Tigers were one of the founding members of the ODAC in 1976.
