The women's tournament in ice hockey at the 2026 Winter Olympics took place in Milan, Italy, between 5 and 19 February 2026. [1] Ten countries qualified for the tournament; six via ranking by the IIHF, three via qualification tournaments, and Italy as hosts. Russia and Belarus were banned from competing due to the countries' invasion of Ukraine; [2] players from those two countries were also disallowed from competing under the banner of "Individual Neutral Athletes" (AIN) like those athletes in other Olympic team events. [3]
Canada were the defending champions, having won in 2022. [4] The United States won the gold medal by defeating Canada 2–1 in OT in the gold medal game. [5] Switzerland won the bronze medal for the second time in history. [6]
