Cooper Smith Goodwin (born October 11, 1994), known online as Gooseworx, is an American YouTuber, composer, cartoonist, animator, writer, director, and voice actress. She is best known as the creator and showrunner of the Glitch Productions animated web series The Amazing Digital Circus (2023-present) and the composer for season 1 of Hazbin Hotel and the pilot of Helluva Boss . She is also known for her independent animated shorts, music production, and the webcomic Horde of Heroes. [1] [2]

Career

Early work

She began her creative career as a digital artist and animator, publishing work on platforms such as DeviantArt and Newgrounds in the early 2010s.[ citation needed ]

Early independent work

Gooseworx first gained recognition through her YouTube channel, where she posted animated short films, original music compositions, and covers of video game tracks, most notably Undertale. Her independent animated projects include Little Runmo,Elain the Bounty Hunter, and Ghost of the Year. [1]

The Amazing Digital Circus

In 2022, Gooseworx was approached by Glitch Productions to develop an original animated pilot. She pitched multiple concepts before selecting the idea that would become The Amazing Digital Circus. [2] Gooseworx explained in interviews that her intent was to create a concept that “felt kind of lonely” and visually drew on the nostalgia of early 3D graphics from the 1990s, combining retro aesthetics with modern animation. [3]

Gooseworx stated that her original pitch was “more chaotic and silly,” but that through development the story gained “a much stronger emotional backbone.” She has cited Harlan Ellison's 1968 short story I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream as a conceptual inspiration, [4] with the goal of subverting its darker themes by presenting the ringmaster AI as “a fun‑loving wacky little guy" instead of a figure of pure hate. The pilot premiered on YouTube on October 13, 2023, and quickly became a viral hit, generating widespread attention and a large fanbase. [6]

Horde of Heroes

Horde of Heroes, a dystopia sci-fi webcomic created by Gooseworx, focuses on the character Valry Lampeart and the journey she undertakes throughout the planet. It was initially Gooseworx's most extensive creative project, but due to her role and focus in producing The Amazing Digital Circus, updates have ceased.

It is unknown whether the series is on hiatus or if it has been cancelled. It currently consists of two chapters.
