The Tax Court of Canada, established in 1983 by the Tax Court of Canada Act, is a federal superior court which deals with matters involving companies or individuals and tax issues with the Government of Canada.

The court system of Canada forms the country's judiciary, formally known as "The Queen on the Bench", which interprets the law and is made up of many courts differing in levels of legal superiority and separated by jurisdiction. Some of the courts are federal in nature, while others are provincial or territorial.

A master is a judge of limited jurisdiction in the superior courts of England and Wales and in numerous other jurisdictions based on the common law tradition. A master's jurisdiction is generally confined to civil proceedings and is a subset of that of a superior court judge or justice. Masters are typically involved in hearing specialized types of trials, case management, and in some jurisdictions dispute resolution or adjudication of specific issues referred by judges.

Sir Roslyn Foster Bowie Philp KBE was appointed as a judge to the Supreme Court of Queensland, which is the highest ranking court in the Australian State of Queensland. He served as a puisne judge 4 May 1939 until 8 February 1956. He served as a senior puisne judge from 9 February 1956 until his death in March 1965.

Elizabeth Crewson Paris is a judge of the United States Tax Court. She was appointed by President George W. Bush in February 2008. Her nomination passed the United States Senate in July 2008, and she was sworn in on July 30, 2008. Her term will expire on July 29, 2023.

Ronald Andrew Weinberg is an American-born Canadian former television producer and businessman and convicted felon best known as the co-founder of the CINAR animation studio, and its co-CEO during a scandal that eventually brought down the company. In 2014, he was charged with 26 counts of fraud in Montreal. Two years later, Weinberg was sentenced to nine years in prison.
