Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital is one of the ten regional hospitals of Ghana located in the Western Region. [1] It is a secondary health facility which also receives referrals from the Western corridor of Ghana. [2] [3] It was established in 1938 as military hospital by the Gold Coast government. [4] The hospital, known for its excellent services in various specialties, is located in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis and provides a peaceful, healing-friendly environment. [5]
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana has uncover a statue of himself at the entrance of Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi as part of his one day "thank you" tour of the Western Region. Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah declared that the statue was put up in honour of the President for the diverse initiatives he has undertaken. [6] [7]
On the part of the President, he said he has achieved 80 percent of the promises made to the people of Ghana. [8]

Donations play a pivotal role in the smooth operations of the Rgional Hospital. Government bodies, corporate institutions, and non-governmental organizations are part of enties that donate to hospital to improve healthcare delivery. In 2014, the Governmnet of Ghana supplied advanced medical equipment, including CT scanners, X-ray machines, and theatre equipment, to enhance diagnostic and treatment services. [11] During the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ghana Upstream Petroleum Chamber and Mfantsipim Old Boys Association donated protective Equipment (PPE), sanitisers, and other essential supplies to support front-line health workers.
