Cute Girls Doing Cute Things (CGDCT) is a genre of manga and anime which focuses on young female characters doing a particular activity in a cute way, although the activity itself does not have to be cute. The genre is widely regarded as developing in the late 2000s with series such as K-On! , which follows a group of school girls who form a band. ^{[1] [2]} There are some older series retrospectively now grouped into the genre, and cross-over with other genres such as iyashikei . ^{[2] [3]}
