Geraint Owen Jones is a former cricketer who played for both England and Papua New Guinea. Born to Welsh parents in Papua New Guinea,Jones was the first-choice wicketkeeper for the England cricket team between 2004 and 2006. He later played international cricket for Papua New Guinea from 2012 to 2014. He announced his retirement from first-class cricket in July 2015 following his resignation as the first-class cricket captain of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club.
Kent County Cricket Club is one of the eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Kent. A club representing the county was first founded in 1842 but Kent teams have played top-class cricket since the early 18th century,and the club has always held first-class status. The St Lawrence Ground is a cricket ground in Canterbury,Kent. It is the home ground of Kent County Cricket Club and since 2013 has been known as The Spitfire Ground,St Lawrence,due to commercial sponsorship. It is one of the oldest grounds on which first-class cricket is played,having been in use since 1847,and is the venue for Canterbury Cricket Week,the oldest cricket festival in the world. It is one of the two grounds used regularly for first-class cricket that have had a tree,the St Lawrence Lime,within the boundary.
Frank Edward Woolley was an English professional cricketer who played for Kent County Cricket Club between 1906 and 1938 and for the England cricket team. A genuine all-rounder,Woolley was a left-handed batsman and a left-arm bowler. He was an outstanding fielder close to the wicket and is the only non wicket-keeper to have held over 1,000 catches in a first-class career,whilst his total number of runs scored is the second highest of all time and his total number of wickets taken the 27th highest.

Dover Grammar School for Boys (DGSB) is a selective secondary school located in Dover,United Kingdom,whose origins can be traced back to the Education Act 1902 (the 'Balfour Act'). Originally founded as the Dover County School for Boys and Girls with locations behind the Dover Town Hall and on Priory Hill,the co-educational arrangements were early on prohibited by the Kent Education Committee. Dover Grammar School for Boys now occupies a prominent position overlooking the town of Dover on Astor Avenue. Mitchell Eric Claydon is an Australian-English former first-class cricketer. Although he was born at Fairfield,New South Wales he holds a British passport. Claydon is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. Claydon most recently played for Sussex County Cricket Club. In July 2021,Claydon announced that he would retire from cricket at the end of the 2021 season.

Goodman was born in Farnborough in south-east London and attended St Olave's Grammar School in Orpington.
Sam Alexander Northeast is an English professional cricketer who plays for Glamorgan County Cricket Club. He is a right-handed batsman. Northeast made his senior debut in 2007 and until 2017 played for Kent County Cricket Club. He captained the Kent First XI for most of the 2015 season before being formally appointed as club captain in 2016. He captained the side in 2017 before being replaced before the 2018 season after declining to sign a contract extension committing himself to the club in the longer term.

In 2018,Kent County Cricket Club competed in Division Two of the County Championship,the Royal London One-Day Cup and the 2018 t20 Blast. The county finished second in Division Two of the Championship and were promoted to Division One for the 2019 season. They reached the final of the One-Day Cup. losing to Hampshire at Lord's,and the quarter-final stage of the t20 Blast. In addition,before the start of the English cricket season,Kent competed in the 2017–18 Regional Super50,the List A competition of the West Indies domestic season,reaching the semi-final stage. This was the second time that Kent have competed in the competition,having played in the 2016–17 competition.
