In baseball,a complete game (CG) is the act of a pitcher pitching an entire game without the benefit of a relief pitcher. A pitcher who meets this criterion will be credited with a complete game regardless of the number of innings played—pitchers who throw an entire official game that is shortened by rain will still be credited with a complete game,while starting pitchers who are relieved in extra innings after throwing nine or more innings will not be credited with a complete game. A starting pitcher who is replaced by a pinch hitter in the final half inning of a game will still be credited with a complete game.

Guy Jackson Hecker was an American professional baseball pitcher and first baseman. He played in Major League Baseball from 1882 to 1890,primarily for the Louisville Eclipse/Colonels. In 1884,he won the American Association (AA) pitching triple crown.
Thomas P. "Oyster" Burns was an American professional baseball player whose career spanned 15 seasons,11 of which were spent with the Major League Baseball (MLB) Wilmington Quicksteps (1884),Baltimore Orioles,Brooklyn Bridegrooms (1888–1895),and New York Giants (1895). Burns,who predominately played as an outfielder,also played as a shortstop,second baseman,third baseman,and pitcher. Over his career,Burns compiled a career batting average of .300 with 870 runs scored,1,392 hits,224 doubles,129 triples,65 home runs,and 834 runs batted in (RBI) in 1,188 games played. Although the majority of his career was spent in the major leagues,Burns also played in minor league baseball. He made his MLB debut at the age of 19 and was listed as standing 5 feet 8 inches (173 cm) and weighing 183 pounds (83 kg).
The Pittsburgh Burghers were a baseball team in the Players' League,a short-lived Major League that existed only for the 1890 season. The team included a number of players who had jumped from the National League's Pittsburgh Alleghenys,including Hall of Famers Pud Galvin,Ned Hanlon,and Jake Beckley. Hanlon served as the team's manager. Meanwhile,John Tener,who would go on to represent Pittsburgh in the United States Congress and be elected the 25th Governor of Pennsylvania,finished his pitching career with the Burghers in 1890. Later Tener would become the president of the National League,and a director of the Philadelphia Phillies.
