Atterton is a hamlet in the civil parish of Witherley, in the Hinckley and Bosworth district, in the county of Leicestershire, England. [1] It has a population of approximately 40 people.

History

The hamlet's name means 'farm/settlement of Athelred or Eadred'. [2]

Atterton became a parish in 1866, on 1 April 1935 the parish was abolished and merged with Witherley. [3] In 1931 the parish had a population of 43. [4]
