Archie R. Boe (born 1921 in Estherville, Iowa - d. January 2, 1989 in Chicago, Illinois) was a former president of Sears, Roebuck and Co. and Allstate Insurance Co.
Boe graduated from Drake University in 1941 with a degree in finance, and earned a master's degree in business from the University of Chicago.
In 1966 Boe was named President of Allstate Insurance, and became the company's chairman and executive officer in 1972. In 1982 he became the president of Sears, a post he held for two years. Boe retired in 1984. [1] He was inducted into the Chicago Business Hall of Fame in 1987, and served on several corporate boards.
Boe was also the author of Allstate: The Story of the Good Hands Company.
Archie Boe died of cancer at age 67. He was survived by his wife, son, stepson, two stepdaughters and four grandchildren.
Sears, Roebuck and Co., commonly known as Sears, is an American chain of department stores founded in 1892 by Richard Warren Sears and Alvah Curtis Roebuck and reincorporated in 1906 by Richard Sears and Julius Rosenwald, with what began as a mail ordering catalog company migrating to opening retail locations in 1925, the first in Chicago. In 2005, the company was bought by the management of the American big box discount chain Kmart, which upon completion of the merger, formed Sears Holdings. Through the 1980s, Sears was the largest retailer in the United States. In 2018, it was the 31st-largest. It announced on January 16, 2019, that it had won its bankruptcy auction, and that a reduced number of 425 stores would remain open, including 223 Sears stores.
The Allstate Corporation is an American insurance company, headquartered in Glenview, Illinois since 2022. Founded in 1931 as part of Sears, Roebuck and Co., it was spun off in 1993, but was still partially owned by Sears until it became an independent company completely in June 1995. The company also has personal lines insurance operations in Canada.
The Allstate is an American automobile that was offered for sale through Sears, Roebuck and Co. during the 1952 and 1953 model years. It was a rebadged version of the Henry J, an automobile manufactured by the Kaiser-Frazer company from 1950 through 1954.

Miles (1940–2013) was an American marketer and businessman from Washington, D.C., who served as chief executive of Kentucky Fried Chicken, Kraft Foods, and Philip Morris Companies, and as a director on the board of Time Warner, Sears Holdings Corporation, Dell Inc., AMR Corporation, and Citadel Broadcasting Corporation. From 1961 to 1971 he was an advertising executive at Leo Burnett Co. He was also a trustee of Northwestern University. He died on November 10, 2013, from complications of a brain tumor.
