Warwickshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Warwickshire. Its T20 team is called the Birmingham Bears. Founded in 1882,the club held minor status until it was elevated to first-class in 1894 pending its entry into the County Championship in 1895. Since then,Warwickshire have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. Warwickshire's kit colours are black and gold and the shirt sponsor is Gullivers Sports Travel. Thomas Lloyd Maynard was a Welsh professional cricketer who played for Glamorgan and Surrey,and was selected for the England Lions tour to Bangladesh. On the night of his death,he was stopped by police in Wimbledon for erratic driving,and fled across rail-tracks at Wimbledon Park station where he was electrocuted and then hit by a train. The son of former England batsman Matthew Maynard,he was regarded as a highly promising young player.
John Robert Tait,known as Jock Tait was a Scottish cricketer who played in English and Welsh leagues. A right-hand bat and occasional right-arm off break bowler,Tait played forty four first class cricket matches for Glamorgan between 1921 and 1926,having played minor county cricket for the club since 1911. He played in Glamorgan's inaugural County Championship match in 1921 and was dismissed for 96,four runs from being the county's first centurion. In his entire career,he scored 1,477 runs at 18.23 including seven half-centuries.
Victor Henry Douglas Cannings was an English cricketer,cricket coach and colonial police officer. Born in Hampshire in April 1919,Cannings joined the Palestine Police Force in 1938 and spent the Second World War in its service. After the war he secured a contract in county cricket with Warwickshire,playing first-class cricket for the county from 1947 to 1949,at which point he had fallen out of favour at Warwickshire. He was signed by Hampshire in 1950 and played first-class cricket for the county until 1959,forming a potent bowling partnership with Derek Shackleton. He took 834 wickets for Hampshire,the eighth most taken by any Hampshire player. Following his retirement,Cannings took up numerous coaching roles,most prominently at Eton College,where he spent 24 years.

The 2013 County Championship season,known as the LV= County Championship for sponsorship reasons,was the 114th cricket County Championship season. It was contested through two divisions:Division One and Division Two. Each team played all the others in their division both home and away. Durham were County Champions for the third time in six seasons. The top two teams from Division Two,Lancashire and Northamptonshire,gained promotion to the first division for the 2014 season,while the bottom two sides from Division One—Derbyshire and Surrey—were relegated to Division Two for 2014.
Ruaidhri Alexander James Smith is a Scottish professional cricketer. Smith is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm fast medium. He was born in Glasgow and has an English father and an Irish mother. He made his One Day International debut for Scotland against Afghanistan on 4 July 2016.
John Whitehouse is an English cricketer who played first-class and List A cricket for Warwickshire between 1971 and 1980 and captained the team in 1978 and 1979. He was born in Nuneaton,Warwickshire.
