Appa Saheb Adke was an Indian educator and administrator, and the vice-chancellor of Karnatak University in Dharwad, India, after the tenure of Dr. D. C. Pavate ended in 1967. [1] Prior to this, Dr. Adke was the principal of Karnataka Regional Engineering College, Surathkal. [2]

The college used to receive financial aid under the TEQIP program from the World Bank.

National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), also known as NITK Surathkal, formerly known as Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC), is a public technical university at Surathkal, Mangaluru. Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology is situated in Udaipur city of Rajasthan state in India. Dadappa Chintappa "D. C." Pavate, was awarded Padma Bhushan from the Government of India in 1967. He was the vice-chancellor of the Karnatak university Dharwad, and the Governor of Punjab. Pavate was a Cambridge Mathematical Tripos wrangler.

E. Sampathkumar is a professor emeritus of graph theory from University of Mysore. He has contributed to domination number, bipartite double cover, and reconstruction theory, as well as other areas of graph theory. He was chairman of the department of mathematics of the Karnataka university, Dharwar and the University of Mysore (1992–95).

R. C. Hiremath was a professor of Kannada and the Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka University, Dharwar after A. S. Adke. Hiremath was the president of the 59th Kannada Sahitya Sammelana. He was a founding member the Dravidian Linguistics Association and the director of International School of Dravidian Linguistics (ISDL) in Trivandrum. His work ranges from creative and critical work to several editorial publications.

Armando Menezes (1902–1983) was an Indian civil servant, writer, academic and poet who wrote in English.

Bindu Madhav Pathak was an exponent of rudra veena and Sitar. He played Khayal style of music on been. He was an 'A' grade artist of All India Radio. Some of his famous students are Hindraj Divekar, Shrikant Pathak, Ramchandra V Hegde and Jyoti Hegde. He was a recipient of several awards and titles, including the Karnataka Kala Tilak Award, Sri Kanak Purandhar Prashasti, Arya Bhata Award, and "Vidyaparipoorna" title. Pathak retired as the Head of the Department of Music of Karnatak University. He died at 68 on 4 February 2004.

Karnatak Lingayat Education Technological University (KLETU), formerly known as B. V. Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering and Technology (BVBCET), colloquially the BVBCollege, is a private university in Hubballi-Dharwad, Karnataka, India. It was upgraded to a university under the KLE Technological University Act, 2012. The institute was founded by the KLE Society, Belgavi, in 1947. The University Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor are Dr. Prabhakar Kore, Dr. Ashok Shettar and Dr. Prakash Tewari respectively.The university has three constituent institutes under it - Hubballi Campus(formerly BVB College),Belgavi Campus(MS Sheshgiri College),Bengaluru Law College;Hubballi campus being the main one.

Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad is an autonomous engineering and technology institute in Dharwad, Karnataka, India. IIT Dharwad started functioning from July 2016 in a temporary campus, previously of the Water and Land Management Institute (WALMI) in Belur Industrial Area, on the outskirts of Dharwad city. It was formally inaugurated on 28 August 2016. IIT Dharwad's permanent campus is situated at Chikkamalligawad, Dharwad, Karnataka. The campus has been fully operational since March 2023, when it was inaugurated and dedicated to the nation by Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. For the academic year 2016–2017, the institute offered B.Tech courses in three branches, namely. Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Mechanical Engineering. The year 2021 saw the introduction of an additional branch, Engineering physics. As of 2022, the institute expanded to provide four additional courses of study, namely Chemical and Biochemical engineering, Mathematics and Computing, Civil and Infrastructure engineering, and Interdisciplinary Sciences.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Tejraj M. Aminabhavi</span> Indian chemist

Tejraj M. Aminabhavi is an Indian polymer scientist and academician. He served as a professor at Karnatak University and was the founder director of the Centre of Excellence in Polymer Science from 2002 to 2007 at Karnatak University. He also worked as a Scientific Advisor to Reliance Life Sciences in Mumbai from 2007 to 2012. He is the second most cited researcher in India in field of chemistry. He was included in the world top 2 percent scientist list prepared by Stanford University for consecutive five years.
