The 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification for the FIBA Asia-Oceania region, began in November 2025 and will conclude in March 2027. The process will determine the seven teams that will join the automatically qualified host Qatar at the 2027 FIBA World Cup. [1]

Contents

Format

In total, eight World Cup berths were allocated for the Asia-Oceania region. A slot was automatically given to Qatar as host. The qualification structure is as follows:

Entrants

The 16 teams that qualified for the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup participated in the first round of the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian qualifiers. Qatar, the host of the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup, also participated in the qualifiers, despite being automatically qualified for the tournament.

Qualifiers

Draw

The draw was held on 13 May 2025. [2] [3] Qatar will advance to the second round, regardless of their placement.

Seeding

The seeding was announced on 9 May 2025. [4]
