The 2026 EUT20 Belgium is the inaugural season of the EUT20 Belgium, a professional men's Twenty20 cricket league in Belgium. [1] [2] The tournament features six franchise teams representing Belgian cities, [3] [4] competing in a round-robin format followed by playoffs, from 6 to 14 June 2026. [5] [6]
The league was established in late 2025 to professionalize cricket in Europe, with former England captain Eoin Morgan serving as the global brand ambassador. [1] [4] All matches are scheduled to be played on specially installed grass pitches at the 12 Stars Cricket Club in Hofstade, near Brussels. [3] [7]
The player draft for the 2026 season is scheduled to take place on 24 March 2026. [8]
Each franchise has a salary budget of approximately £183,000, with individual player contracts ranging from £1,500 to £22,000. [3]
Ahead of the draft, several high-profile international stars were confirmed as pre-signings.
West Indies all-rounder Sheldon Cottrell, [9] Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, [10] English international Jason Roy, [11] and South African batter Rilee Rossouw [12] were announced as pre-signings for Akcel United Brussels.
West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell, [13] New Zealand international Martin Guptill, [14] and South African fast bowler Hardus Viljoen [15] were pre-signed by the Antwerp Anchors.
South African internationals Temba Bavuma [16] , Dwaine Pretorius, [17] and all-rounder Duan Jansen [18] along with English international James Vince, [19] and Australian batter Josh Brown [20] were pre-signed by the Ghent Gladiators for the inaugural season of the tournament.
South African internationals Rassie van der Dussen, [21] and Wayne Parnell, [22] New Zealand international Colin Munro, [23] Nepalese international Dipendra Singh Airee, [24] and Indian all-rounder Nikhil Chaudhary [25] were announced as pre-signings for JB Bruges. [26] [27]
United States all-rounder Corey Anderson, [28] Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik, [29] Australian batsman Chris Lynn, [30] Nepali leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane, [31] and South African batter Faf du Plessis [32] were pre-signed by the Liège Red Lions ahead of the inaugural season. [33]
