BBC to present 'changing face of Britain' with Asian stars in prime-time dramas
London, March 2: BBC executives have decided to cast more Asian and black actors in prime-time dramas to present the changing face of modern Britain.
BBC One controller Charlotte Moore has vowed to screen more gay dramas and has roped in comedian Lenny Henry and BAFTA-winning film director Steve McQueen to make programmes about racial conflict, the Daily Star reported.
She is also set to involve "blind casting" where actors are given parts regardless of their ethnic origin.
BBC drama chief Ben Stephenson complained that there are not enough gay characters on TV and revealed that he wants BBC dramas to "reflect Britain.
