The American Bar Association (ABA), founded August 21, 1878, is a voluntary bar association of lawyers and law students, which is not specific to any jurisdiction in the United States. The ABA's most important stated activities are the setting of academic standards for law schools, and the formulation of model ethical codes related to the legal profession. As of fiscal year 2017, the ABA had 194,000 dues-paying members, constituting approximately 14.4% of U.S. attorneys. In 1979, half of all lawyers in the U.S. were members of the ABA. The organization's national headquarters are in Chicago, Illinois; it also maintains a significant branch office in Washington, D.C.

The Illinois State Bar Association High School Mock Trial Invitational is a mock trial tournament that has been held every year since 1983. The event is administered by the Illinois State Bar Association. The winning team represents the state of Illinois at the National High School Mock Trial Championship. Originally held in Springfield, Illinois, the invitational moved to Champaign, Illinois in 2013, before moving back to Springfield for the 2019 competition. In 2019, 40 high schools participated. The defending champion is York Community High School.
Fabrizio Ruggeri is an Italian statistician. He is Research Director at the National Research Council Istituto di matematica applicata e tecnologie informatiche (CNR-IMATI) in Milan, Italy. His work focusses on Bayesian methods, specifically robustness and stochastic process inference. He has done innovative work on sensitivity of Bayesian methods and incompletely specified priors. He has worked on Bayesian wavelet methods, and on a vast variety of applications to industrial problems. His publications include well over 150 refereed papers and book chapters, as well as five books.
