Daniel E. Weber (born 1940) was the fourth Executive Vice President of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), serving in that manner from 1991 until his 2003 retirement.
A 1962 graduate of DePaul University in Business Management, Weber began his career at the American Oil Chemists' Society (AOCS) in Urbana, Illinois, United States as Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director. While at AOCS, he earned a certificate in Association Management from the Institute of Organizational Management at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.
In 1967, Weber left AOCS to join IFT in Chicago, Illinois, United States as Administrative Manager, reporting to then-Executive Director Calvert L. Willey. Two years later, he would be promoted to Director of Convention Services, with responsibilities for the IFT Annual Meeting and their associated exhibits, now called the Food Expo, along with advertising, sales, marketing, and membership development. Weber would be promoted to Director of Marketing and Meetings in 1979, a position he would stay at until the 1991 Annual Meeting & Food Expo in Dallas, Texas when then-Executive Director Howard W. Mattson suffered a heart attack and would be forced to retire. Weber was named interim Executive Director of IFT, then made permanent Executive Director on August 1, 1991. His position of Executive Director would change to Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer in 1999, a position he would hold until his August 7, 2003. As of 2007, he is the longest serving employee in the Institute's history.
Married to wife Char in 1961, they have two daughters (Judy and Nancy), one son (Dan), and nine grandchildren.

The Chinese American Food Society (CAFS) is an American-based organization founded in 1974 to develop relationships among Chinese-born food scientists in academia, government, and industry. Its current president is Yao Olive Li, a professor at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
The Calvert L. Willey Award has been awarded every year since 1989. It is awarded to a member of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) who displayed meritorious and imaginative service to IFT. The award is named for Calvert L. Willey (1920-1994) who served as Executive Secretary and later Executive Director from 1961 until his retirement in 1987. Willey was given a distinguished service award by IFT at the 1987 Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada. This distinguished service award would be named in his honor and presented for the first time as an annual award at the 1989 Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois. It was the first IFT Award to be named for a living person.
Phi Tau Sigma (ΦΤΣ) is the Honor Society for food science and technology. The organization was founded in 1953 at the University of Massachusetts Amherst by Dr. Gideon E. (Guy) Livingston, a food technology professor. It was incorporated under the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts December 8, 1953, as "Phi Tau Sigma Honorary Society, Inc."

George F. Stewart was an American food scientist who was involved in processing, preservation, chemistry, and microbiology of poultry and egg-based food products. He also became the first president of the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) after it was formed at the 1970 conference in Washington, D.C., from the International Congress of Food Science and Technology.

Lund was named one of 26 innovators in Food Engineering magazine's 75th anniversary edition in September 2003.
Gideon E. "Guy" Livingston was an American food scientist who was responsible for founding Phi Tau Sigma at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He was also well known in food safety for foodservice establishments and for refrigerated foods shelf-life studies.
Barbara Byrd Keenan was the fifth executive vice president of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), a position she held since 2003. Prior to that, she had served as president of the Community Associations Institute and vice president of the International Association of Hospitality Accountants.

Fred Ross Shank II was the Director of the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition of the Food and Drug Administration for nearly ten years before he became Senior Advisor to the Commissioner for External Academic Affairs in January 1998. Before joining FDA in 1978, Shank performed program evaluations and served as a nutrition specialist with the Food and Nutrition Service for domestic food assistance programs at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Shank earned his doctorate in nutrition at the University of Maryland, College Park. He has authored or co-authored numerous papers and has made many presentation on public health, nutrition and food safety. His best known work was the implementation of the Nutrition Labeling and Education Act in 1990. In 1994, he was the recipient of the Babcock-Hart Award.
